Fashion changes, but style endures – Coc0 Chanel
To begin with this thought, I understood that Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. And when Fashion meets luxury, its leads to one of a kind of show. This Fashion Walk has to be awesome as we’re abt to say hello to our own Pune-made Mercedes Benz GLA over a gala cocktail evening and toast for a record breaking event!
For this day my bon appetit turned its foray into complexities and beauty of Fashion and Luxury. A special thanks to Sheetha for inviting #TheBTeam over this amazing show of power and fashion at Trinity Motors, Pune.
Last Saturday, Pune witnessed a prodigious gala that showcased the Brand Launch of ‘India Fashion Walk‘ and celebrated the success of the Mercedes Benz GLA that completed the Great overLand Adventure. Lavina Galani, the anchor of the show did an amazing hosting for the evening and made sure all the audience and patrons should have a good time during the entire event.
Reet Sahiba Arora, Nishant Singh Shekhawat and Bhupinder Makker had been working on “India Fashion Walk” since last few months and finally it got launched with a class-apart thrill. To have a vision and then to see it walking the ramp is a feeling so euphoric that it can’t be put in these mere words for them. India Fashion Walk, an event conceptualized to become one of India’s most Premier Fashion Event offers a breakthrough platform for homegrown talent and local as well as national designers across India. This brand launch showed glimpses of designs by sever Pune designers including Shweta Divgi, Mystic Quartz by Tanvi Ejrekar, Runway Ready by Prerna & Justine, a grand finale Jhelum Fashion House, and footwear sponsored by Nupur Chaudhuri. All the male and female models had been training for few weeks and I must say that they walked with an elan on the runway and audience had no other choice but clap for their kickass Runway Walk.
The event also celebrated the grand success of the Mercedes-Benz GLA. It has been noted that Mercedes Benz India embarked on a one-of-its-kind world tour with one of the most versatile SUVs in its portfolio – the GLA. Christened as the ‘Great overLand Adventure (GLA), the ‘India Made’ GLA was put to a realistic endurance test as it undertook this epic road trip traversing across varied geographies and climates across the globe. The GLA which rolled-out of Mercedes-Benz India’s Pune production plant traversed across six continents, seventeen countries and clocked more than 50,000 kms, before returning to Pune. Even people across the town had observed #GLAOverlandRallyPune trending since last couple of days. A lot of excitement, eh!
The ‘Great overLand Adventure’s unique journey flagged-off in the middle of July from Mercedes-Benz India production plant in Pune, and traversed across varying geographies and traveled through Europe, Northern and South Africa, North and South America, Australia and Asia. The tour promised to present a medley of diverse people and their culture from across the world, new places that many have not explored earlier, and also to celebrate various events and festivities across the 17 countries enroute. Such a pride, isn’t it?
Post fashion walk and unveiling of GLA, a press conference was also held to interact with the media and bloggers in particular and the audience in general. The panel included Mr. Ranjan Sen [CEO, Trinity Mercedes-Benz Motors], Mr. Shailendra Shukla [HOD Marketing, Trinity Mercedes-Benz Motors], Aarti Rele [Partner, Jhelum Fashion House], Nupur Chaudhuri [Owner, Nupur Chaudhuri Footwear] and Reet Arora [Partner, WFT Pune and Co-Curator of India Fashion Walk]. Then a couple of questions raised by few from the audience and blogger’s team and answered perfectly by the panel.
The one of a kind event was curated by WFT India, in association with Mercedes-Benz Trinity Motors.
Nishant Shekhawat, Director, WFT India says, “We conceptualised this event in order to bring forward the talent of designers from Tier 2 cities, as well as to help them seamlessly connect with media, buyers and the direct consumers. The main idea is to help enhance the business of fashion for them as well as for the hosting city.” And coming from him, it means a lot for Pune fashion sense.Afterall, Elegance is refusal! Definitely what they are planning is a herculean task for sure, but if given right kind of approach and dedication, they would achieve what they are seeking for.So, folks be ready for few more rounds of India Fashion Walk (six precisely in an year).
Chaitanya Gokhale choreographed and directed the entire show and he did a fantastic job by bringing right kind of models who performed so well in the show. Before the end of the show, he himself walked the ramp with all those models and raised the enthusiasm level to another high!
Karan Sunder Varyani created a perfect crazy music to set the mood right during the show. FAD International did helped in executing the show with such finnese !
“Jhelum Fashion House congratulates IFW and Mercedes Benz for giving the right platform to upcoming and talented designers and we are proud and happy to be associated with them.”, Said Mrs. Aarti Rele, Partner in Jhelum Fashion House.
The event ended with a Wine and Cheese session catered by Grandiose Hospitality Solutions by Navin Patrick, and was attended by dignitaries, local celebrities, prominent entrepreneurs and business owners, HNIS, NRIs, corporates, socialites and other such patrons of the premium lifestyle segment. It was such a classy Fashion show with power demo of the luxury brand Mercedes Benz GLA. York Wines and Budweiser made the party more sober and happening.
Disclaimer: The invite was for a cocktail event over wine and cheese for India Fashion Walk.
