Mineority Café and Bar is a new go-to place for Pune peeps. Koregaon park and Kalyani-nagar has been hosting uncountable places, where we should head for our weekend woes. Joining the league, its the newest baby – Mineority by Saby. The place has been known for “the ship” over the years and now it has been stepped up and made its way for this brand new chic-look place for party-goers. Dedicated to the hard lives of mining community, it is a combination of the words ‘mine’ and ‘ore’ representing the people who represents this industry. Hailing from Districts of Bihar and Jharkhand, I personally know how hazardous and dangerous these mining works are. All the detailing has been done in that regard and it can be very well felt once you enter this place. From stairs to the dining place to the roof top, its totally mine-tastic !!
Mining in India is Concentrated mainly in North-East areas and South-East areas hence the menu of Mineority cafe and Bar has been designed in such a way that we get to know the these specific cuisines as par with regional and international touch. Chef Saby has tried to bring in the different cuisines alltogether in your plate with a hint of his master-recepies.
Such a lively and vibrant place with huge space and also serves amazing cocktails is what Mineority by Saby is upto. Beautiful decor, Superb art works and funky theme will lead you to complete chic feel. Food, fun and fantastic. I bet you’ll enjoy going through the menu, and definitely enjoy what’s served at your table too. Well, mostly.
This place has to be on your go-to place for a weekend, or any other day you feel like getting out without going too hard on the partying. The rooftop bar is must visit. A reservation is must to ensure you have a smooth hassle free dining. It shuts down by 12.30.
Mineority by saby has been on our watch-list since long and when Carina extended an invite for the food tasting session, #TheBTeam couldn’t resist and obliged in return. The evening started with few of the uber cool drinks for us. The drinks were potent and excellent as said by our fellow #TheBTeam members .
My pick from the drinks would be 100% Arabica Cold Coffee. It was an amazing drink, a bit bitter beacuse of the strong concentration of Arabica coffee. All the coffee lovers will love this one. A lot of places serve similar drink but the punch is important to feel in the very first sip itself. it doesn’t look that appalling from the looks but once you’ll have it, you start liking it. #MustHave
Mining Club Cutlet – Nicely done up and very well presented. The mining club cutlet at Mineority is one of the first appetisers you should have it here. Its perfectly crumbed coated cutlets made of beetroot and Ground peas served with a smear of kasundi along with a tangy tamarind chutney and few onion slices to enhance the flavour and texture in the mouth. The beetroot content is very well cooked and I must say the entire combination of the ingredients helps the dish itself to give a nice feel in the mouth. #GoForIt
Tribal Fish and Chips – Well, It wasn’t that good in looks when served to us but one bite and you’ll feel the amazing taste of the dish. Maybe Chef should shape it with a better presentation. Crispy fried fish with patra, tamarind dip and chips tasted good with a hint of mustard drizzle. Chicken was super tender and went very well with the tangy tamarind chutney. Liked by all. #MustTry
Kalimpong chilli cheese rolls – A very rare occasion when we like veg dishes amongst Non veg options available. It was a delish preparation of crispy spring roll filled with Kalimpong cheese, hill coriander. Cheesy delight. It could be a perfect pair-up dish with your lovely drinks on the table.
Hyderabadi Nyzams Mutton Seekh – This dish was the “pick”of the day. The melt in the mouth seekh kebabs to the accompaniment of bread and kasundi was an absolute delight. The most consistent and juicy in taste. The mutton was very well prepared and and kasundi was giving a perfect taste to it. #MustTry
Coal Field Margarita – Ok first thing first, we liked it so much that we ordered it twice. A very thin crust pizza made of freshly hand-rolled and stone baked, the toppings of Italian tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil made wonders for the entire preprations. We all had a genuine feedback for this Margarita i.e, it has to be relished hot otherwise the crispiness will not last and taste may differ. One of the best margarita, which I had in recent times. #DoNotMiss
Now comes the dessert part (excited na?)
Goran’s Bajadera – It is a classic Croatian dessert made with layers of biscuit, chocolate , and nougat. The presentation was nice but somehow the tone of the sweetness was over-powering the entire experience.
Tres Leches Cake – Well, a lot of places serve this beauty. Some goes perfect, others just fail. Here at Mineority, It was just nicely plated and the spongy flavorsome tasted heavenly. Made with soft vanilla sponge, condensed milk and heavy whipped cream, this was dessert of the evening.
Jurassic Cheesecake – There’s something about Odiya Cuisine that make me feel go gaga over it. The sweet dishes from Orissa has always been my fav. Now coming to this beauty, it was inspired by Odiya style preparation of cheesecakes and made with burnt chenna poda topped with guaja flakes. Lovely combination and definitely something different you’ll love it here.
A special mention of Carina, as she has always been a support to #TheBTeam and Rutuja also for inviting us. We extend our greetings to Kunal and Team Mineority for their amazing hospitality.
Mineority by Saby is located at Fortalezza, Kalyani Nagar.
