Kinki – Modern Asian Kitchen and Molecular Bar

Kinki is sheerly a brain-child of Sandy and Richa which has taken years to formulate and finally presenting its fab avatar at BHS. Quirky interiors and the cutting-edge food are the two important aspects which make this place more Interesting and happening. Located perfectly in the west side of the town, giving a lot of varieties in Oriental and Pan-Asian Offerings to people of this area. The Menu curated by one of the top celebrity chefs. Apparently, the name of the place represents a region located in Japan, yes, I asked this because I was too curious you know!

Just love the vibes this place generates.

Well, it was a lovely gathering as Richa made sure that entire #TheBTeam should be present for this round of food tasting at her new swanky place. The menu boasts varieties from Baos to dimsums, Sashimis to Nigiris, Sushi to Ramen and beyond that! We started with Superb cocktails from specially designed molecular bar (oh you have to check that out). The bartenders also shared stories behind those drinks and formations. Amazing experience.

Drinks

Tokyo Midtown: A citric drink which as vodka based served in a pot with dry ice all around it. I liked it. It’s very light but gives a good amount of punch and it totally grows on you with every next sip. From the looks of this drink, one can say, it speaks swag!
The Smoked Primm’s Cup – a ginger ale based drink with smoke infused from wood chips. A little drama is all we need in life, right! Hence I loved this pairing. I had it twice to let the evening be more dramatic towards food scenes.
The Madam Luxe – a peach flavored drink served with flavored air! It went well with a few people but not everyone.
Food Scenes
Kinki offers a wide variety of sushi. If you are a fan of sushi, do visit this place and make it your top favorites among others. Being not a big fan of sushi’s of the world, I tried a couple of them and I loved Prawns Tempura Sushi amongst all.

Don’t miss the titanic Carrying Asparagus Tempura Sushi that you just can’t stop eating. I kinda loved it.

Prawns Har Gao – Simply one of the best from the evening. Fluffy, Very delicate, and rich with flavors. Liked it. IMG_4824

Edamame and Truffle Oil Dimsums – very recently I had visited a five-star place and tried Edamame and Truffle Oil dish for the first time. I loved that and since then, I was wondering where I’ll get something similar in making or at least a prep with the same ingredients. Edamame is just a preparation of immature soybeans in the pod and extra craftsmanship on the dim sums was giving a spectacular flavor to it. Top Notch !IMG_4820
Stuffed Tofu – my goodness! Totally a surprise element for all of us. Crunchy fried stuffed tofu pockets coated with the sweet sticky sauce were a pleasure to eat. And we did enjoy every portion of it.

The Chicken Skewers – cooked to perfection. A hint of basil and lemongrass flavor was prominent through the bites. Indeed a good one.

pork bao” also got presented to us, which I hadn’t tasted but as my fellow bloggers were mentioning, It was something!
The Vietnamese Pho – Indeed the best Instgrammable dish of the evening. Taste wise, very comforting, and subtle. Gorgeously made, aromatic chicken broth with noodles, mushrooms, and veggies all around, the dish was warm enough and slightly under-seasoned (as we spoke to chef also abt it and gave our honest feedback there itself). Soft noodles, crunchy veggies, the right amount of creaminess and a perfectly seasoned curry. This was one flavour-packed dish!IMG_4852
The Keng Phaet Koong – It’s basically a thai curry red fish dish. And anything with prawns and a mix of Thai curry is a welcome call for me. It was thick and coconut layering provided a good texture to it. Lemongrass flavor paired well with the sticky Jasmine Rice. The salt factor was troubling us, so we consulted Chef on this and it has been told that they’ll take the consideration. I’ll come later for this one, probably I’ll get an improvised one.

Basil Chicken –  The Basil Chicken that had a lovely spicy oyster sauce base. One of the best in these days. I loved it.

They also gave us a chance to try out their cool desserts and one new dessert, which they are planning to put on the menu soon. Watch out for their mango based dessert. Lychee and Berry Baobing stood out and won the hearts!
